To swim suit or not?
With all those amazing suits out there and with summer fast approaching us it is important to find a suit that ... well... suits us!
I for one can be super shy when strutting the beaches half naked. Especially now with everyone moving towards a "body positive" world I think it super important to not only love the body you are in but to also be proud to show it off!
With that being said this blog is all about body positivity!
I have had a really tough time finding a swimsuit that made me feel comfortable all around!I did find one at Target which was a fully body black suit but it was still riding up my arse so that one is stayed in the closet.
I teamed up with The Secret Closet to bring you the best bathing suit you will ever need: Introducing the Sassy Suit .. ( note: I totally named her this).
I named her the Sassy Suit because I felt like I was a bad ass sassy woman.
But honestly I have had really low self esteem growing up and still struggle with body issues. I have learned over the years to really embrace what I got... so thats what Im doing.. strutting the beach like a boss!
Finding a suit that compliments your body
1. You first want to pick what type of suit you are going for: a) sexy b) modest c) a bit of both
2. Then you want check in with yourself to see what you want to flaunt and what you want to cover up. But hey if you want to flaunt it all POWER TO YOU!
3. There are different body types so checking to see what realm you fall in to is also helpful
a. hourglass shape
b. pear shape
c. big busted
d. small busted ...etc
4. Then check with the patterns you like 1. Bold 2. Solid 3. Loud
5. Then check to see what you want to do in terms of activities
a. walking along the beach
b. swimming like there is no tomorrow
c. playing volleyball and being all sporty
d. lying in the chair reading a book
6. Think about your fave outfit and why you love it so much - what does it showcase and how do you feel, then try to imagine that in a suit.
THEN... VOILA! YOU NOW HAVE THE INFORMATION TO FIND YOUR SUIT!
For me, my suit is in the land of modesty with a bit of flirty! I typically like to cover up my tummy area and showcase my chesticles. I also love high wasted bottoms ( hence covering up the tummy). I also love fun patterns that are bright and playful. I think this is the first time I have found a suit that not only looks good but feels good. I was able to go on my vacation feeling badass and not scared that my boob was going to pop out when I jumped in the ocean.
Special shout out to The Secret Closet! For this awesome suit! If you are looking for a suit or if this one stood out to you then GUUUURRRL get on it! Message them!
The top is so comfy and super supportive of said chesticles
When philanthropy meets fashion it becomes such a beautiful thing. Even better when you support local. So, when I found out about Roma Boots I had to be a part of this!
In 2010 Roma Boots started an idea... by Romanian-born Samuel Bistrian- they started to distribute boots to children in impoverished countries and it quickly grew into a Global vision.
The Roma Boots team is working closely with local retailers across Canada to spread the word on this amazing brand to improve the lives of impoverished children around the world.
Roma Boots is dedicated not only to meeting a practical and urgent need by providing a new pair of rain boots to street children and orphans, but also to changing their future by helping them get an education.
With every pair of Roma Boots sold, a brand new pair of Roma Boots is donated and 10% of all of their sales proceeds go to the Roma Foundation.
They believe that only through education we can truly help eradicate the cycle of poverty and help these children become catalysts for positive change in society. They are determined to facilitate this growth by helping them achieve their education goals with the supplies they need.
I have been living in my Chelsea Kale Lace boots for a month now. They are extremely comfortable, great quality and a bonus is that I feel great with every step I take knowing I am supporting a brand that is doing something big in our world.
So how can you help? I urge you to take a closer look and see what Roma Boots is doing and start getting involved! I love that being in Canada there is a Canadian website as well!!!
If you want to a chance to win one head over to Roma Boots Canada's Instagram here @romabootscanada or check out their Facebook @romabootscanada and enter to win because I have teamed up with my gal pal @raisingjayandable(insta) @rasingjayandable(Facebook)and Roma and we are giving away 2 pairs ( one on Insta and one on Facebook)

ROMA - For you, For all
Imagine that for the next five minutes that whatever you wanted would come true. That you could do anything, be anything and your were unstoppable. What would you do?
What if failure was not a possibility?
What if all your fears dissipated and you were left feeling the most confident you have ever been. Nothing stood in your way.
For most of us, this ideal life doesn't exist. We are constantly facing our internal demons, our insecurities and our greatest fears.
But something magical happens when we realize we are greater than our fears. When we essentially "feel the fear but do it anyway" we end up becoming our most greatest self.
Luckily when I am in my lowest self and I feel that I want to quit my business or just give up, I look to my collective group of amazing friends and fellow boss ladies who give me the courage to keep pursuing my dreams.
It is amazing thing when like minded women come together... when we decide to face our fears together and conquer them in our most badassery self.
The word I chose this year was fearless... I wear my sweater from @jotislabel proud and strong and every morning I stare at my fearless necklace from @mintandbirch
The Fearless Campaign is about supporting and empowering women. Joti is a big believer that everyone has their own story about how they face their fears on a daily basis or stepping outside their comfort zones.
Joti like myself graduated with our degrees expecting to just start working in our field. We both took risks going after our dreams and stepping outside our comfort zones.
She has a huge passion for helping women and through her printed items she gives and donates proceeds to several charities.
FEARLESS is all about facing your fears & GRL PWR is about supporting one another and working together to make a bigger difference and change. I couldn't agree more with her.

So for a long time now I had been contemplating getting my eyebrows micro bladed. Microblading is a way of semi-permanent make-up, where through manual process of inserting pigment into the upper layers of skin the technician creates the desired fullness and shape of the eyebrows. The results look like natural thick shaped brows.
I started researching everywhere to see if I could find the best in the business but was still unsure if I wanted to get it done. My good friend Megan Parker recommended me to Avenue 42 which is a studio located in Brookswood, Langley.
My skin is super sensitive so I was worried that it would react. I contacted Mandi from Avenue 42 and right away knew that I found the best of the best.
Mandi, who started out as a nail technician has worked in the beauty industry since 1997. In 2007 she decided to open up her studio to further provide beauty services to her clients. She is trained and certified in permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing, microblading and skin revision.
I booked my session with her and waited patiently for the day to arrive. In the mean time I researched different brow shapes deciding on which one would look best on me.
The day of the session went really well. I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be. I have many tattoos and thought, this wouldn't be as bad! Luckily Mandi put numbing cream on the location so I wouldn't feel a thing!
She sat with me and we designed my eye brow shape until I was happy with them! At first I thought it looked rather thick, but Mandi assured me that it would look thicker in the beginning and it would gradually thin out!
She started the procedure and I was so relaxed I honestly almost fell asleep.
When the session was over she touched up what needed to be done and I left with my after care kit!
A few days later I noticed that they were super itchy, which was totally normal. Since my skin is super sensitive they were taking longer to heal and that is why if you have sensitive skin it's important to know the proper aftercare.
Luckily when I went for my touch up we decided to dry heal for the entire process. This meant that I would stay away from certain oils and let them heal naturally and which meant I had to keep them away from water for a week.
NOTE: Color will appear sharp and dark immediately after your procedure. This is because the color is sitting both on top and below the skin’s surface and blood has risen to the surface of the skin. Once the skin starts healing or flaking, the color will start to fade considerably, as it is then filtered beneath the skin. Expect approximately 30% to 50% of fading during the first 6-week period (depending on area of application) and the final color should not be considered for approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the final visit. Do not be alarmed if it appears as thou most of the color is flaking off. Some of it, along with crusting, will appear on your Q-tip — THIS IS NORMAL. What you will see is the superficial color coming off as it is shed during the natural healing process.
A touch-up visit should be scheduled as soon as you pass the 6-week mark post procedure (and before the 8th week has fully ended). All micropigmentation procedures are a two-step process. Results are not determined until final touch-up application is completed.
After 2 weeks they felt great and had no skin irritation. I didn't have to draw in my eyebrows anymore. The gap that was missing was filled and my eyebrows looked thicker and had way better shape.
It's amazing how my 'getting ready' has been sped up because I don't have to sit and trace my eyebrows. They look so natural and clean!
Entire healing process will take from 4 to 6 weeks depending on your body's regeneration, age, immune system and lifestyle. Sometimes after microblading customers develop dry, flaky skin. It is very important not to rub, pick or peel off your flakes or scabs. Itching is absolutely normal as skin is repairing itself. With dry healing its important to not let your brows be exposed to water for at least 1 week. Do not put any ointment on the brows except for coconut oil ( after 2 weeks) Lets scabs come off on their own.
It is so important to know who you are hiring as many people now claim to do microblading but are not trained properly in the field and could cause a higher risk of infection. Aftercare is so important and it's up to you to make sure you know how your skin heals.
I feel so confident now with my brand new brows and I recommend you go see Mandi because she is the bomb!
I have put together a video for you guys to see what happened when I got them done ( both times)
Thank you Avenue 42 for your professionalism and for taking care of my sensitive brows!

"The most powerful relationship you will ever have is the relationship with yourself. " – Steve Maraboli
Have you ever dated yourself? I know a weird concept but actually took yourself on dates? Well, for me, I love spoiling my friends and family with gifts and dates but rarely take myself out. When you are a mother, wife, friend, entrepreneur etc life gets way too busy because we are always looking out for others well being. Thats not to say that it is wrong to constantly care for others I mean Mother Theresa did and now she is considered a SAINT!
What I mean is that we are so important that we need to also tell ourselves just how awesome and hard working we are. We need to shower ourselves with compliments and maybe little or BIG gifts once in a while.
Self love and self care is so important as its the foundation in which we can grow and become even better versions of ourselves. When we love ourself and nurture those wants and needs we are able to see the bigger picture.
Recently I started meditating and at one point was so relaxed I fell asleep. I thought that maybe I had also failed at this... because meditating is super easy right? Well, its not! I wanted answers like the movies where you levitate then this third eye comes out and tell you in a deep movie trailer voice the secrets to life! I soon realized that my relaxed state was my body telling me that I am overworked and overtired....
I decided to date myself.
I most recently visited Spa Pure - a luxury spa in downtown Langley.
I love this spa for many reasons but mostly because massages are just so darn expensive and once you get a professional massage.... well its like pringles...
I love taking myself out to dates. I'll go for high tea or shopping then hit the spa!
I usually get a full body swedish massage which is a full body massage experience but then ill ask if I can skip the legs because I HATE MY LEGS massaged! So, they give me an extra long head massage! The facial also comes with a head massage so I get 2 head massages! BOOM!
Even facials are amazing there! So important to have and they give you a low down on your skin! You leave relaxed and literally glowing!
aaaand don't get me started on their packages!
The cost of a one massage normally is their crazy package of facial massage and mani/ pedi!
Even if you are new to the massage world Cindy B. ( owner and operator) explained that a couples massage always works wether you go with your significant other or with a friend you won't be alone!
Also, SP is a local business right in the heart of Langley so the community and support is just amazing! As you know I'm all about that local love!
Plain and simple: the concept of SP is this:
"The mental and physical benefits that come from a spa treatment should be something a person could do consistently." - Cindy B
Treating yourself doesn't have to break the bank. Love yourself unconditionally, treat yourself once in a while and not feeling so bad about it! After all, its all about you <3

Feeling Naturally Beautiful with KOYA Natural Skin Care : By Guests writers @shantellemedel and @megartistry
We have always wanted to step away from products made up of various chemicals. After all, we are constantly exposed to harmful toxins throughout our day. We recently heard about KOYA Natural Skin Care, which creates all natural, toxic-free beauty products using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients, with no harmful chemicals. We were instantly in love with the sound of their products and the unique combinations of ingredients they used. We decided to go all natural with KOYA.
Da Bomb! Bath Bomb
I gave up using bath products a long time ago, finding they tended to irritate my skin. When I heard Koya makes each product fresh upon ordering and doesn’t include toxins or preservatives, I was excited to give bath treats a second chance.
This little bath bomb looked just like a delectable scoop of orange gelato and it smelled just as delicious. The scent was sweet, fruity and, literally, mouth-watering! The bomb itself was large enough that you could break off pieces and save it for multiple baths if you wanted – I decided to go for the full meal deal and dumped the whole thing in the water. It fizzed beautifully! And that smell! Best of all, no irritation! For the rest of my evening, I floated around smelling and feeling like a true goddess.
Rise n' Shine Face and Body Scrub
I love coffee. Coffee is magic. I’m a total slug in the morning until I get my coffee on. Then, just a few sips into my rejuvenating nectar, and miraculously, I’m a new person, ready to face whatever the day has in store. So what could be better than a face and body scrub that looks, feels and smells like coffee seed?
This scrub with its deep brown colour and grainy consistency does feel a lot like rubbing yourself down with coffee grounds. While that might seem a bit odd, it actually feels amazing especially if you’re as obsessed with coffee as I am. My skin felt soft and fresh after the gentle exfoliation. The scrub is sweetened with orange oil which was quite moisturizing and left a pleasant scent. As with all Koya’s products, it was made without toxins, parabens, SLS, phthalates and petroleum. Just like coffee itself, the Rise n’ Shine scrub is magical and rejuvenating.
Beach Babe Body Scrub
There is nothing like having a pina colada while laying on the beach to enjoy a summer day. The Beach Babe Body Scrub smells just like you are sipping on a pina colada! I could hold the bag to my nose all day long. The scrub is infused with coconut oil and is absolutely refreshing. Handmade by KOYA, it smells fresh, natural, and authentic.
My arms have always felt dry and rough and I have tried various body scrubs in attempt to smoothen my skin. Often what I have found was that some scrubs had large, chunky pieces of salt or other substances that have irritated my arms. The Beach Babe Body Scrub is delicately grounded the coconut and seed oils helped to simultaneously exfoliate and moisturize my arms. My arms were left feeling soft and smooth. I’m ready to get my beach babe on!
Butter up! Body Creme
After a dry winter, my skin is always feeling quite rough and dehydrated. I must confess: I barely moisturize my legs as it is so easy to throw on some sweatpants and forget about them. Now that the weather is getting warmer and I have to dig for some shorts, I was so excited to try KOYA’s Butter up! Body Creme.
Its top three natural ingredients are cocoa seed butter, Shea butter and coconut oil...what I have found to be a perfect combination to moisturize my very dry skin. It nut and coconut like aroma left my skin feeling smooth and rejuvenated for the day. My favorite part about this body butter is how it truly leaves your skin with a ‘decadent glow’...perfect for when you need to wear a beautiful summer dress.
We cannot wait to try more of their products. Now that the summer is around the corner, we are ready with KOYA in hand!

Welcome to my new lifestyle blog!
I am officially launched!!! eeeeeek! Thank you so much to everyone who continue to support Allyfotografy!!! As a celebration with my new blog I wanted to as always, do a kick ass giveaway! I have teamed up with Elate Cosmetics and Gems Hair and Makeup to give you all the "Beauty Clean" big giveaway!!!
For those of you who already know its no new news that I have been in search of new products for my face. My partner in crime Gemma from Gems Hair and Makeup has been telling me about Elate Cosmetics for a while and after every makeup session my face always feels light and airy, not caked on and thick.
Well, most recently my face has broken out so I decided that it was time for me to make the switch to better products and why not with Elate since their products are cruelty and chemical free, vegan and organic. I figured since I was trying to eat healthier and change to better food why not change not only my insides but what I'm using on the outside!
Of course I went straight to Gems Hair and Makeup and booked my "Clean Beauty Makeover" Gems has made the switch to pure and clean products and offers these makeovers to their clients.
Gemma ( founder and lead of GEMS) came to my studio and layed out all of the Elate products. As you can already see the packaging is amazing!!! So much love and detail has gone in to the products right down to the packaging.
First we picked the right foundation for my skin. If you are like me, I love coverage. My skin is really pigmentated so having the fuller coverage evens out my skin. I picked the full tint foundation. I love the feeling when painting it on. Infused with coconut and argan oil it will leave your skin feeling hydrated and breathable. Pretty much I call it my naked foundation.
Then we picked put 2 of the best products they carry! The universal cream! These creams can be used as blush, highlighter, eyeshadow, lipstick... the list goes on! Talk about a multitasker for your skin! Universal cream in Wonder gives the best highlight on your cheekbones and Love has just the right amount of pink to create nice blush cheeks!
Gemma then added the liquid liner and mascara to my eyes. The problem I have is that my liner and mascara usually burn when I try to wipe it off at the end of the day. Elate liner and mascara comes off so easily and doesn't stain any of my towels. The formula is pure and natural so it feels great when you are wearing it!
Finally we picked a lipstick. I love red and bold lipsticks so naturally I gravitated towards the red!
Thank you GEMS for the Beauty Clean Makeover and for helping me make the switch to clean beauty products!
As my official launch to my new website I am giving away with Elate Cosmetics 3 cosmetics of my readers choice! GEMS is also giving away a Mini Beauty Clean Makeover! This Package is well worth over $100
